Join us for an electrifying 6-week workshop that transforms clay into your personal canvas. Experience the dynamic interplay between the precision of wheel throwing and the expressive freedom of handbuilding—all in one creative journey.
Overview:
This workshop is designed for anyone ready to break the mold and explore new dimensions in ceramics. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your skills, you'll discover innovative techniques and gain hands-on experience in both pottery disciplines.
Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
Weeks 1-3: Wheel Throwing Fundamentals
Learn essential wheel techniques, including centering, shaping, and forming your first functional pieces.
Weeks 4-6: Handbuilding Techniques
Embrace the tactile art of handbuilding with sessions on pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction, letting your imagination run wild.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a range of carefully crafted pieces, ready for firing and pickup 2-3 weeks after the session concludes.

Duration: 6weeks, 2 hours per session
Dates: Tuesday nights, 5:30-8 pm, May 13 to June 17
Location: 45 Pine Grove Ave, Kingston, NY - Suite 105
Previous wheel-throwing and/or hand building experience is helpful, though not mandatory.
Tools, aprons, and towels provided
Price includes clay, glazes, and firing
Students get 4 hours of open studio time per week
Limited to 6 participants per workshop

Payment & Cancellation Policy:
Full payment is required prior to the event to secure your spot.
If you need to cancel, we offer a credit valid for 6 months with a 10% fee, provided cancellation is made in writing at least one week before the workshop.
No make-up class.
Please note that we do not offer refunds under any circumstances, including after the class begins.
In the event of low enrollment, we reserve the right to cancel the class one week before the scheduled start date.

Casey Taylor
Casey Taylor is a passionate ceramics artist with a creative spirit that ignited as early as age two. Drawing inspiration from 90s cartoons, retro fast-food packaging, and vintage fabrics, she’s developed a distinctive style that blends humor and innovation in every piece. Now a proud member of the Hudson Valley’s vibrant creative community in Kingston, Casey has honed her craft through both traditional wheel throwing and exploratory handbuilding. With a keen interest in new trends like “Clayze” and a love for playful experimentation, she’s excited to share her hands-on expertise and artistic journey in our dynamic hybrid workshop.
