Our journey into pottery began as a personal pursuit, practicing on the wheel in our own time beyond scheduled classes.

We felt a deep urge to explore creativity on our own terms, constantly learning from our mistakes and discoveries. Pottery became a sanctuary—a space to disconnect from the world and immerse ourselves in the craft. There, we found friends, connected with fellow artisans, and joined a vibrant community, each person pursuing their unique creative vision.

Before pottery, our paths led us through different creative fields—Benedicte as an executive producer and Jerome as an art director. We first discovered ceramics in Brooklyn, captivated by the process of shaping clay into something meaningful. In 2018, we took a leap and relocated to the scenic Hudson Valley in Upstate New York to start L'Impatience, a ceramic studio where we create timeless, handcrafted pieces for the home. And in the summer of 2024, we launched L'Atelier, expanding our journey into a dedicated space for sharing our passion for ceramics.
