This Fall, immerse yourself in the art of pottery with a 6-week session designed to guide you through crafting your own unique ceramic pieces. From the first spin of the wheel to the final glaze, you’ll learn the full process of wheel throwing and leave with creations that are entirely your own.
Join us on Monday evenings, 5:30–8 pm, for a hands-on and inspiring journey into pottery. We will lead you through every stage, including wedging, centering, trimming, and glazing. Over the course of six weeks, you’ll create functional and decorative forms like mugs, bowls, plates, and vases.
Your finished pieces will be carefully kiln-fired and ready for pickup 2–3 weeks after the session ends.
What You’ll Learn Each Week:
Week 1: Begin with the essentials of wedging and basic wheel throwing techniques.
Week 2: Hone your trimming skills and start shaping mugs.
Week 3: Learn how to attach handles to your mugs.
Week 4: Focus on creating bowls and exploring form and technique.
Week 5: Design and throw vases to expand your repertoire.
Week 6: Finish your pieces with glazing techniques.
Whether you’re starting fresh or expanding your pottery skills, this workshop offers a creative and fulfilling way to welcome fall.

About the Instructor:
Benedicte Leclere
Benedicte is a ceramic artist and co-founder of L’Impatience and L’Atelier — two creative spaces in Kingston, NY dedicated to thoughtful, expressive work in clay. Originally from France, she brings a quiet precision and deep respect for material to both her teaching and artistic practice. At L’Atelier, Benedicte leads intimate, hands-on wheel throwing and hand building classes, supporting students in building skill, confidence, and connection through clay. As co-creator of Mutual Core, a sculptural speaker project that merges sound and form, she explores the intersection of ceramics, design, and sensory experience. Her classes reflect the ethos of the studio she helped build: focused, welcoming, and grounded in the quiet joy of making.
